Old Rectory Cottages Flixton

Abbey Road, Flixton, BUNGAY, Suffolk, NR35 1NL

The Old Rectory at Flixton near Bungay offers four, one bedroom self catering holiday cottages.  Situated on the border between Suffolk and Norfolk, and laying in grounds of almost seven acres – surrounded by farmland on three sides, the grounds are a haven for wildlife with barn owls, muntjac deer, rabbits (in abundance!), squirrels and many birds including thrushes, blackbirds, swallows, 2 types of woodpecker, swifts, house martins, robins, treecreepers, chaffinch, rooks, dunnocks, pheasants as well as a large wildlife pond and many native trees.
The cottages provide the ideal holiday location if you want to leave behind the strains of town or city living and relax in the tranquil surroundings of a Victorian rectory amidst rolling unspoilt Suffolk countryside.
We are dog friendly with up to two well behaved dogs welcome.  You can exercise your dog in our 5 acre field which is full of the scents left by rabbits and pheasants. There are woodland and excellent country lane walks from the cottages without even having to get into your car.
We have even compiled a list of pubs where dogs are welcome.
We make no extra charge for dogs.  What we do ask is that dogs are kept off  the furniture; supervised both inside and outside of the cottages, and never left in the cottages by themselves.
We can also provide details of which local beaches allow dogs - so a run along the beach may be one of the highlights of their holiday.
The cottages have been sympathetically converted from Victorian buildings retaining the original features where possible.  Individually decorated and furnished to a very high standard, to ensure they are as unique in character as they are diverse in style.  Enjoy the King or Super King size bed and the luxury of the Egyptian Cotton linen & towels.  The cottages have a 4-Star assessment by VisitEngland.  Additionally all four of our cottages have received the accolade of a coveted Gold Award – reserved for accommodation that provides exceptional quality in all areas but in particular in service and hospitality.
We normally welcome you personally to The Old Rectory and show you around your cottage.  We are here during your stay in the event that you wish to contact us.  We have a good knowledge of the local area which enables us to recommend places or events that many visitors to the area do not get the opportunity to experience and our philosophy is to go the “extra mile” to ensure you have a really enjoyable holiday!
We offer short breaks between October and the end of April, but it is always worthwhile telephoning us or looking at our website at other times if you are arranging a last minute break.
We are also able to offer cooked meals during your stay, if you want to combine the freedom of self catering accommodation with the luxury of restaurant quality food.  Full details can be found on our website
