Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park has four parts: Loch Lomond, The Trossachs, Breadalbane and Argyll Forest. Loch Lomond has mountains in the north while to the southern end of the loch, you will find a scattering of islands. The Trossachs is where the outlaw, Rob Roy, hid in the dense forests from his pursuers. At the northern tip of the national park, you will find Breadalbane, which marks the beginning of the Scottish Highlands, and where the Falls of Dochart run through the village of Killin. To the western edge of the national park, you will find Argyll Forest, with it's ancient trees , tranquil lochs and an abundance of wildlife.
There are certainly plenty of outdoor activities to keep the family happy while you are on holiday. Walking is the obvious one, with plenty of trails to follow; as well as cycling, mountaineering, horse riding, water sports and of course, wildlife watching.
