The Peak District National Park was the first national park in the UK - and today it is still and incredibly popular tourist destination, with its 202 square miles of access land, 1,867 miles of public rights of way, off road trails along former railway lines and national and local trails for walking, cycling and horse riding. Perfect for either a short break or longer holiday with your dog.
Winter is a fabulous time to visit The Peak District, with it's frosty mornings, winter sunshine and if you're lucky, a sprinkling of snow. Walking is one of the most popular pastimes in the area - the landscapes are stunning and there are plenty of trails to follow, whether it be a challenging trek up hills and crags, a simple stroll in the countryside, a guided walk or town trails.
