The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is a stunning part of West Wales. It takes up around a third of the county and is the only national park that is entirely coastal and reaches up to the Daugleddau Estuary and Preseli Mountains. There are many things for families to do on the Pembrokeshire coast, as well as rockpooling and crab catching. Mind that the dogs' nose doesn't get pinched though!
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority was set up in 1952, and look after the coast path, as well as running an extensive range of walks and talks and producing an annual newspaper - Coast to Coast. With over 590 miles of bridleways and public footpaths, walking in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is an ideal way to discover the area, with its abundance of wildlife, stunning scenery and fascinating history. There are many websites with details of walks including the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park site.
If walking is not your thing, there are plenty of other things to do in the area. Take a look around one of the many castles that Pembrokeshire has to offer, such as Carew Castle or Pembroke Castle, cycle around Llys y Fran Reservoir and Country Park or just sit and watch the world go by at one of the many dog friendly beaches in Pembrokeshire.
