Come and be spoilt at the Alum Dene Hotel Situated in the heart of
Alum Chine only 2 mins walk to Alum Chine's blue flag award winning
sandy beaches, and stunning woodland walks. Originally a gentelmans
residence the hotel was built in 1884 and was converted into a hotel
in the 1960's. All the rooms are en-suite and have recently

burner and fenced garden that looks out over fields.
With a
beautiful view of the iron age Hill Fort of Hambledon Hill, Giddy
Acre Barn was built in 2007 on the site of an old milking parlour;
down a track on a 6 acre organic smallholding on the edge of Child
Okeford. The owners, Tim and Kelly Evans, keep sheep and chickens
and horses that graze the fields.
There is a wide choice of
paths to walk from the house; up Hambledon and Hod Hills, along the
Stour as well as the rich network of footpaths in and around Child
Okeford and the Cycle Trailway between Sturminster Newton and
Blandford.
Child Okeford itself is well catered for with 2
pubs 2 cafes, a village shop as well as the neighbouring farm shop
at Gold Hill Organic Farm.
Dorset's famous Jurrasic Coast,
Stourhead, Kingston Lacey and Longleat all within 30 mins drive,
Shaftesbury and Blandord Forum are within 15 minutes by car and
Sherborne; many guests find exploring the lanes, woods, paths and
inns of Thomas Hardy's Blackmore Vale is why they return.
Great for a family holiday, but is also cosy for a couple.

Clematis Cottage
Middle Street, Bradpole, Bridport, Dorset, DT6 3HS

Built in the 1700's as part of the old village Cider house, Clematis
Cottage sleeps from 2 to 6 (plus baby) and is priced for two people
outside school holidays. It is ideal for exploring all of Dorset's
World Heritage Jurassic Coast - a gloriously scenic region of
outstanding natural beauty.
Set in the quiet heart of a conservation area of the old village
with footpaths, river walks and a village store close by. Situated
two miles from all year dog friendly and unspoiled National Trust
beaches and the Dorset coast path, we are equidistant from
Abbotsbury and Lyme Regis.
We have one large (king size bed), one smaller double and one
twin bedroom, a fully tiled bathroom with over bath electric shower,
a fitted oak dining kitchen with electric oven, hob, refrigerator,
microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer, an inglenook and wood
burner, television, DVD, stereo, free Wi Fi and telephone. It is
cosy and welcoming in winter and cool and refreshing in summer with
full gas central heating, enclosed alfresco dining and sitting out
area and parking. All gas, electricity and bed lined is included and
of course, there is no charge for dogs.
All our cottages really welcome dogs and so do many pubs and
cafes in the area. We are proud sponsors of Many Tears Animal
Rescue. 10% of rental goes to support the dogs there and help
them find homes. |
