There is a wide choice of paths to walk from the house; up Hambledon and Hod Hills, along the Stour as well as the rich network of footpaths in and around Child Okeford and the Cycle Trailway between Sturminster Newton and Blandford. Child Okeford itself is well catered for with 2 pubs 2 cafes, a village shop as well as the neighbouring farm shop at Gold Hill Organic Farm. Dorset's famous Jurrasic Coast, Stourhead, Kingston Lacey and Longleat all within 30 mins drive, Shaftesbury and Blandord Forum are within 15 minutes by car and Sherborne; many guests find exploring the lanes, woods, paths and inns of Thomas Hardy's Blackmore Vale is why they return. Situated two miles from all year dog friendly and unspoiled National Trust beaches and the Dorset coast path, we are equidistant from Abbotsbury and Lyme Regis.
